The professional Lian Li DK05F and DK04F gaming desks: Review

It’s arguably the best gaming desk and one that has given my home office environment the best upgrade, as I’ve only been using it as a place to work and play in the last few weeks. The Lian Li DK04F is a delightful piece of technology, at the same time a gaming desk, but also a beautiful industrial case that showcases the wonderful components of your PC or the chaos it caused while ordering the cables under a hidden matte RGB glow. Here is the professional Lian Li DK05F and DK04F gaming desks: Review.

Safe

The professional Lian Li DK05F and DK04F gaming desks are now component Photo Studio, responsible for making my precious PC parts ultra-safe, and it actually did the miracle of curing me too. It’s like the messiah’s desk or something. But I mean, for $ 1,500 ($ 1,300), you’d expect it to give you more than just a place to put your keyboard, mouse, and monitors.

Heavy

There are basically only four parts to assemble this game table. The main chassis itself, the two telescopic legs and the tempered glass table. Telescopic? Oh yeah, this is a motorized sit-and-stand desk, but I’ll get back to this little piece of joy in a moment. Overall the DK04F is relatively easy to assemble, the only problem is how to hang the very heavy aluminum housing while trying to get the ultra heavy iron legs into position.

Resistant

From there, it’s the classic Lian Li. In my time, I’ve built enough systems on Lian Li’s chassis to know what I’m getting into. These are cut fingers, scraped knuckles, and machined screw holes that don’t quite fit. Fortunately, the few screw holes that aren’t a big deal aren’t, as a multitude of screws hold the part together. It is nothing if it is not resistant.

RGB light

That’s why the interchangeable tempered glass desk is such a wonderful thing. With the push of a button, it changes from crystal clear to perfectly opaque. It means I can turn off the nasty tangle of wires I let loose inside until I can tidy up the cooler and all that’s left is a soothing RGB light that slowly flutters underneath my keyboard and mouse.

DK04F

And when I move my peripherals aside, it becomes the perfect background for a little product session, which my Core i9 10900K test can confirm. Pretty Things. Because the height of the DK04F can be adjusted from the front thanks to these motorized legs, you can take it to work at a comfortable height. To me, the PCs are no longer cross-legged on the ground, which is good because this sturdy body, shamefully descending in middle age, doesn’t cope as well with such limb dislocations right now.

Corsair Crystal 280X

It is precisely this adjustability that has made the professional Lian Li DK05F and DK04F gaming desks something of a miracle cure. Since the birth of my son, the home office has been put to completely opposite uses, banishing me to a dark corner of the dining room. Until now, my PC was housed in the wonderful Corsair Crystal 280X, one of the best miniITX chassis of all time, and wedged under a jury desk where I couldn’t keep my legs down.

The bottom line

With the constant work from home now being imposed on us, it means that for most of my last life I have been pressing against a series of drawers, bending my legs, neck and spine out of place, by many hitting a keyboard for hours one day. As a result, I woke up excruciatingly throughout the day (mostly between 5 and 6 a.m., thanks Charlie) with little room to breathe.
